Every month we strive to help those in need in underserved communities with our Food Bank. On May 20th we held our monthly food bank distribution and were able to serve 50 families at our location on Fort Boulevard. With help from our youth and adult volunteers, we were able to accomplish our mission.

Contribution to CISD

On this same day, Youth Impact was able to contribute 100 additional bags to help Canutillo Elementary School with their 1st Annual Family Engagement Conference for Pre-Kindergarten families. The first 100 families to register on this date received food donations. The school hosted a fun-filled informational conference for those families wanting to enroll their child in Pre-K.

Conferences were held by many educators from Education Service Center Region 19. They had various presentations for parents such as, Kindness Begins with Me, which provided parents and children different strategies and ideas that support the child’s social-emotional development. Other presentations included Math Counts, Fine Motor Skills…The Heart of Writing, to Creating Wonderful Readers! To see the full list of presentations, visit the CISD Invitation.

Lots of great information for parents!

To conclude, we want to thank everyone that made these events possible from the Youth Impact volunteers and Canutillo Elementary School parent volunteers. Many of the same volunteers in this other CISD Food Bank contribution post volunteered for this event.
